Mount Anvil recently announced the launch of our National Skills Academy for Construction. This initiative, backed by Housing and Planning Minister Brandon Lewis, will help 100 young Londoners to develop their skills and find employment.
The Mount Anvil National Skills Academy for Construction will offer training for 100 young Londoners through apprenticeships, NVQs, work experience programmes and employment opportunities. It will also allow for up to 500 individual learning opportunities for local schools, colleges and community organisations.
Our collaborative, innovative and empowering working culture, along with our status as the UK’s number one company for Health and Safety, makes us the ideal partner for project heads CITB. As Nick James, CITB’s Director of Strategic Partnerships, says: “We are delighted to be working with Mount Anvil. We feel encouraged by the varied training and development opportunities that they plan to offer, their world-class approach to health and safety, and their commitment to delivering a positive legacy for London.”
We are the only London based residential developer to be granted National Skills Academy status, a title and responsibility awarded to organisations that offer high quality training and development opportunities through their projects. The accolade reflects our commitment to driving educational engagement, apprenticeship recruitment, and long-term, sustainable employment in the construction sector.
The Mount Anvil National Skills Academy is backed by Housing and Planning Minister Brandon Lewis. The Minister’s vision of creating a pipeline of skilled, home-grown workers to tackle the housing shortage in London is one shared by Mount Anvil’s Investment Director, Darragh Hurley, who says that “With a skills-gap emerging in the construction industry, but a pressing need to get more homes built in London, it’s vital that we start training the talent of tomorrow, today.”
